Synthia Mainayar, O.D.

Dr. Synthia Mainayar grew up in Los Angeles, California. She attended the University of California, Merced earning a Bachelor of Science in Biology with an emphasis in human biology and a minor in psychology. She received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2019 from Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Synthia completed internships around the country, in various modalities and specialties such as vision therapy, pediatrics, Optometric Phototherapy geriatrics, dry eye, glaucoma, urgent care, pre and post-operative care, disease and primary care.
Her heart has always been drawn to pediatrics, vision therapy and vision rehabilitation. She hopes to expand to sports vision as she played high-level softball in her childhood. Dr. Synthia loves seeing how being able to efficiently use vision can transform daily life. She has gone through vision therapy herself for focusing, eye teaming, and ongoing visual-vestibular issues, as well as optometric phototherapy for visual migraines.
In her spare time she enjoys reading, traveling, trying new restaurants, cooking and spending time with her husband and her two daughters. She is fluent in Spanish.
